Why Kate Middleton Broke the Dress Code on her Visit to The V&A
The Princess of Wales cut a very trendy figure as she went to the new V&A East Storehouse in London the other day - however one element of her attire appeared to break the gown code.
Kate, 43, marched for her very first engagement of the month - and her very first given that returning from the half-term break - in a trendy trouser fit by designer Alexander McQueen for the occasion, along with a white scoop-neck top.
For her accessories, the princess selected a trendy belt, Laura Lombardi chain locket, and a set of streamlined black heels from Prada.
But while Kate looked incredibly classy, technically speaking, she did break an obscure design guideline during her visit with her option of shoes.
'We recommend using practical clothes and flat shoes,' the V&A East Storehouse's website reads. 'The metal grid floor covering is not appropriate for stilettos or kitty heels.'
However, the princess appeared completely at ease and masterfully handled the uneven floorings, even while wearing a set of tough heels.
When inquired about Kate's option of footwear, Tristram Hunt, the director of the V&A, informed PEOPLE magazine: 'She is a professional! She dealt with that!'
He included: 'She had an incredibly energy. She was extremely energetic and focused. We last saw her about 2 years earlier.

The mother-of-three has repeatedly made using heels look simple for many years - even while playing sports, wearing pumps on yard and attending horse racing occasions such as Royal Ascot.
In 2012, Kate even to play a video game of hockey and, more just recently in 2022, kicked a football in heels during an engagement with her other half Prince William.
She even wore her cherished shoe in her very first photos with Prince Louis in 2018 as she stepped outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital.
