The Middle East is an area where cars and truck is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually risen the price of oil, the concern of sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.

In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing successful too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
